About Vancouver Pro Musica
Vancouver Pro Musica is a not-for-profit volunteer-run society dedicated to the presentation and promotion of new works by B.C. composers. Our concerts, workshops, educational initiatives and multicultural partnerships help create a strong, vibrant and relevant musical community in British Columbia. Our upcoming concerts are:
The Electroacoustic Festival – Now in its fifth year running, the EA Festival is a three-evening event featuring concerts and presentations showcasing current technology and its application in the creating of new music. The festival encourages the development of a wide range of exploratory techniques in making music, including computer-generated sound and interactive technology with live performers.
Sonic Boom – A four-day music festival dedicated to presenting new art music by emerging composers living and working in BC, with a focus on acoustic works. The event features a Composer-in-Residence who leads workshops, reading sessions and masterclasses, and an Ensemble-in-Residence and Feature Artists who perform two nights of newly written works for the festival.
Further Series – A one-night-only concert featuring a different local ensemble every year playing works written for the event by BC composers.
