Vancouver Pro Musica
Ethos Collective Concert
(as part of our Further concert series)
Sunday, May 24th, 2015 at 7:30 pm
at Pyatt Hall
(843 Seymour St, Vancouver, BC)
Innovative and curious, the Ethos Collective focuses on improvised and new music, with a particular fondness for works that blend both worlds. This mixture – of written and non-traditional notation – was the inspiration behind the call for scores for tonight’s concert. Ethos’ members are highly-trained classical musicians active as freelancers and educators, and can frequently be found performing in ensembles throughout Vancouver and beyond.
Since their inception in 2011, Ethos has been presented in concert by Vancouver New Music, Redshift Music Society, Open Space Arts Society, Canadian Music Centre, Barking Sphinx, UBC School of Music, and Douglas College, and have been awarded grants by the Canada Council for the Arts, the British Columbia Arts Council, and the SOCAN Foundation in support of their own collaborative concert presentations.
